Scott, where is this seatbelt warning light I've been reading about? I don't know 2nd gen's very well but I get the impression that 70 cars didn't have it but 71 on up did? So that would make this dash/gauge panel not an original 70 panel, correct? Always looking to learn.

I believe that GM seat belt warning lights were first seen in 1972.

Fasten seat belt started in 1973.
The car looks so familiar. If it's the car I am thinking of there are a few things wrong with the car but still a nice real Z. I'm not sure but if this is the same car I think it has Canadian documentation as well. I'll find out more tomorrow. Rick H. |

I think I have it in my '72 Nova SS.
Or maybe it is just a seat belt buzzer? I have to look on the build sheet.

I remember having to replace this panel and many other parts when an ex wife wrecked a 1970-1/2 Z/28 I had years ago. I remember that GM superceded the replacement part to the later panel with the warning light. If I remember right 1973 or 1974 was the first year that you had to fasten the seat belts to let the car start.
