Default Disc Brake Conversion

I want to convert my car to disc brakes and need to know exactly what I will need. The car currently has power drum brakes. Can I reuse my master cylinder, booster, and proportioning valve? Other than spindles, rotors, calipers, dust covers, and mounting mounting hardware, will I need anything else?
Thanks,
Dan

Also - I read something on the net about machining down the spindle. My brother is a machinest, so he could do that. Is it easier to do that or just pop for new spindles? If I do machine them, what are the specs? TIA
