After reading about the unrestored Iowa Yenko I'm curious to see if anyone else owns or knows of other Yenkos that were ordered 'stripe delete'. Mine is Rallye Green & was purchased @ Yenko Chevrolet by E.Clyde Krug III. If anybody knows Clyde (lived in Pitts,Pa in '69) I'd like to contact him.

The Yenko stripe package didn't start until '69, so all of the '67's would have been 'stripe delete'. To my knowledge there is no defining date or vin where stripes were involved with the '67's.
Very few of the '69 cars were 'stripe delete', some of them were noted on the inventory sheets, others were noted on the original paperwork. Other original owners report that Yenko would not allow the car to go off the lot 'without' the stripes! So, when the owner got the car home, he would promptly remove the stripes. Interestingly, Yenko would add other 427 insignia's at the owners request, but just wouldn't take the stripes off. What I've noticed is that if a person ordered the car at Yenko, and requested no stripes, then it was not striped. However, if the car was on the lot, and maybe had stripes on it already, Yenko would not take them off. To my knowledge there are no '70 'stripe delete' Yenko Novas, but there were some without the mag wheels, emblems, and a/t's without the shifter installed - it came in the trunk.

On the other subject, I learned that the original owner, Clyde Krug III passed away some 25 yrs. ago. Still looking for the 2nd owner Stephen Paul McGirt from Charlotte. For anybody researching the history of their cars try www.anywho.com (the white pages)
