Hi folks,
I'm working on a 1st. week May '69 Z/28. This means that it was produced Thursday 5-1-69 or Friday 5-2-69 according to the Julian calendar. What date codes would be correct for: Alternator Exhaust Manifolds Distributor Heads Block |

If you're talking about things like heads, starter, manifolds, carb, I'd probably say mid to late April parts. March of 69 seems to be a lot of Z28's so I imagine the parts were running real close date wise. If you throw a March 69 Z28 part on Ebay, watch what happens. Maybe the guys at CRG can back up my theory that the cars were running close dates. My March 69 Z28 has a Jan transmission and it matches the P-O-P so that shows there can be a spread on the drivetrain.

I have a ss conv with all its original motor parts
accept the carb. The car has a 5E built date on the cowl tag. The block is T0512,alt is 9E19 and intake manifold is E59. All of the date codes including the trans and rear are 2 to 4 weeks prior to the cars build date. I don't know if a Z28 would be much different. My intake also has CONV cast in it. Has anyone ever seen that before? |
