Warren Johnson wins the first NHRA race of the season in Ponona and sets a national Pro Stock speed record of 204.91mph in the process. Not only that, he cut an .070,.005,.044, and a .003 light in the final! Not bad for a old man.

Pretty good racing today. The MOPAR guys are strong running too in the MPH, was kind of suprised there. With some of that sunshine and warmth would make it this way soon.

It seemed every class was making incredible times and speeds, they were indeed rockin'. The announcers commented about the track staff did something to the starting area which seemed to make a big difference. Looks like Dick Lehay has Dixon's car wired in again this year.
