Default My 1963 Galaxie 500XL 406/405hp goes down the road.

Now I’m one of those guys whose username doesn’t match his garage anymore, ugh. I bought it in late 1998. It was actually one of the last cars I appraised in MN while working at Yesterday’s Auto in the summer of 1993 before getting married and moving to Seattle. I remembered that beautiful interior, and had befriended a Ford collector in Tacoma and was learning more about them. I was working at another old car dealership, USA of YESTERDAY in Tacoma, when I saw Yesterday’s Auto’s ad in Auto Trader and recognized the car. I called my old boss Al and confirmed it was the same car I had seen before I moved. He had sold it on consignment after I appraised it and now it was back to be sold again, this time to me. I stored it at my Grandfather’s house for a year or two then shipped it out here to WA. Hanging out with the aforementioned Ford collector, I got overly ambitious and blew it apart and had it painted. My family continued to grow and 20 other cars jumped the line. I built a house with a bay created just to store it, and have watched it sit there ever since. My friend has passed away since, my kids have grown, and after confirming with my children that they won’t be disappointed in me for not finishing the “broken car” (they don’t care), I decided to sell it to a friend who I believe will actually finish it in the near future. Life is too short to keep things that don’t work for you anymore. For the first time in 28 years, I don’t own a car that is older than me. I’ll keep an eye out for something that works for me and my family now. Looking at the ad for the car, I really wish I’d have bought the K code ‘67 Mustang FB for $17k and/or the matching numbers ‘67 L79 Corvette FB for $22k, lol.
