Default help identifying a November 1967 Schwinn frame please

Hey Gang,

It seems there's a few Schwinn fans here.

I have had this frame a while and wanted to confirm exactly what it is.

Is it a Sting-Ray / Stingray?

Can one, or more of you, confirm or deny that for me please?

I've looked up the serial number and it comes back as a genuine Chicago built Schwinn and was produced in November of 1967.

I staged new 20" BMX tires to show it's a 20 inch tire frame...

Thanks in advance friends,
Anthony

Interesting frame, but I'm not an early Stingray connoisseur, sorry.

I was just wondering if you were into early BMX. I used to be more into it, but I still love the early stuff.

Appears to be a Stingray based on the frame and the fork profile and the plate on the fork. The kickstand gusset isn’t there but can’t tell if it was removed or an earlier build with one not present. There are plenty of groups that live for this stuff that could probably fully break down the frame number for you..

The stamping on the left rear drop out is LC = Nov. 1967.
This frame looks to be a Schwinn Stingray that has been modified by removing the kickstand sprag ‘tube’.

Here is a KC (Oct. ‘67) Factory Original Stingray from my collection for reference.
This particular ‘67 was ordered with the 2 speed rear hub.
