Includes: 1 GM 3946052 Can-Am ZL1 Aluminum Engine Block 4.440" with steel liners 1 pair GM Casting #3946074 Aluminum cylinder heads 1 GM #3856223 427 Chevrolet ZL1/L88 Crankshaft 1 Set of Big Block Chevy Pistons - 4.38" bore size Can-Am 1969 ZL1 blocks were produced specifically for the Can-Am racing series (Canadian-American Challenge Cup). High-performance variants of the ZL1 block and were designed for use in Chevrolet’s racing program. The ZL1 block was used in early Can-Am race cars and came out later then the ZL1 when Chevy developed a new stronger large bore block design with Siamese cylinders. There were several versions, one used cast iron liners and others had no liners. It looked similar to the zL1 but the “Can-Am” block was a different casting design. The block has been upgraded to splayed main caps on the center 3 mains with GM iron caps front and rear. The block has cylinder head studs, oil pan studs, and main cap studs. Small extension welded to the block for a different starter bolt pattern which is easily removed. It has winters foundry snowflake on the front left side of the block. Coolant passages appear clear and non-corroded. All cylinder sleeves are present with no top ridge. This block was in a street rod and ran with no issues.
