Default DZ Stamped engine in a C10

I have a 350ci in my 1969 C10 or so I thought. It is stamped V0313DZ with casting code 3970010. The engine is in the running truck so difficult to see anything else. Would you say this is actually a 302ci Z28 engine?

Would suspect a restamp. Have never seen an 010 block before April.

Machine marks are running left to right. Should be N & S as broach marks.

Would bet that if measured from the crank centerline, the deck is less than 9.025 inches, indicating it has been decked.

Position of the stamp is not correct.

I am certain others will chime in.

I wonder what is the casting date on the back of the block? Should be a week or so before 3/13.

Looks like the broach marks are running the wrong way and it is not a similar stamp to my DZ the week before

Check the casting date. If it is pre March 13, 1969, I believe it will be the earliest known 010 block out there. I have never seen one dated prior to April, 1969. Not saying they don't exist. Just haven't seen one.

If that was an MO block found in a Chevy truck,...it could be mine.

That is a restamp for sure. It is not consistent with other legit stampings.

Will try and twist around to see the casting date. Is there a legit reason an engine gets restamped such as after deck machining?

Default small block

Why would you restamp a DZ motor and then put it in a pickup truck
