Looking for tips/processes on restoring 69 front calipers. Is it safe to bead blast, etc....? Basically looking for the do's and do not's since I haven't restored a set. Thanks in advance.

You might consider having your local NAPA store rebuild them, then all you have to do is paint them when you get them back. They will rebuild your originals pretty economically.

Extremely easy to rebuild though a parts washer and bead blast cabinet helps a lot. I do all of ours here and they are not difficult at all and only takes a couple of hours. The seals are the tricky part if you have never done them before.
However and like Jake said, you can have them done pretty inexpensively.

Nice pics. Is the outside diameter of the piston coated, or just machined to spec?

Yes they are plated. I believe it is a chrome type plating (not like a bumper). You can buy replacement pistons cheap.

Just about any parts store. Most of the time you won't need pistons....Joe
