FINDING particular cars
Obviously, with the markets down, for me it's not a good time to be out buying cars. BUT it is a good time to start looking for and researching cars for future purchases. So that brings up a couple questions for the members:
1. How does one keep a eye out for a certain car? I will be looking for a GTX convertible. I would "prefer" factory AC, but with the limit availability of these cars, that might not be possible. So is they a way to be notified when one come up for sale? Like a website or service someone can join or pay for? 2. Also, so I'm looking at a certain particular car, like the '67 427 Motion Chevelle, or a certain # '69 ZL1 Camaro. Is there a way to follow that car so if it comes for sale or to an auction, one can be notified? Just wondering how others follow or track there cars. Thanks, John

Which year GTX?
81 US-spec cars had AC in 1969. That's 14.7% of production (lower than I expected). I'd have to dig some more for 1967-68 numbers. |

EZ, feel free to reach out to me as I have a registry for 69 GTX convertibles. I do know of some that are for sale but I can't remember if they have factory A/C or not.

Thanks guys, MUCH appreciated.
To be brutally honest, yr doesn't quite matter. BUT my first car was the CLONED 1968 GTX convert. 440 4sd DANA 4.10 car when I was 16. Worked to years to save for it. Got my lic in March and the car May 30 1983. YEARS later, I meet the guy who did the cloning. Seems he had/located a nice clean 1968 Sport Satellite and had a totalled GTX convert. So swapped EVERYTHING from the GTX to the SS shell. Even the front torsion bars. Car drove great and handled well. Was fast for the time. I bought this car in 1983. Seems from the records, it was cloned in 1981. I loved that car. The power of the modified 440, the look of the car, the ride and the size. HELL to this days, I have guys from around town who remember that car and there NOT car guys. One of my house builder buddys (was 2 yrs ahead of me in high school) even remembers me bring THAT car to high school. He said he would LOVE to buy that car today, in 2020!!!! He has never had a "toy" car or anything, but remember and liked THAT car. I have TONS of memories in that car. It was my daily driver for everything back then. One night, we went to a cruise night 1 town away, about 20 min drive. There was 4 of us in the car. Black with Black top, red interior. We parked and walked around for a couple hours. Noticed a nice 1967 RED 427 Vette convert, 4sp with side pipes. Air cleaner called out 427/425Hp??? Was it or not, they guy SAID it was an original 427/425Hp car with headers and cam. Well leaving I noticed the Vetted pulled up beside us. BOTH cars had the tops down, both 4sp. 2 guys in the Vette, 4 in my GTX. The Vette kept hitting the gas and bouncing the front end like LETS GO!!!! So we were coming to a curve then it straightened out for good 1/2 mile. We were slowing for the curve AND we were both getting down into 1st gear. My buddy in the passenger side seat said "DON'T THAT CAR WILL SMOKE YA!!!". I said "WE'LL FIND OUT SOON ENOUGH!". AS we straightened out, I looked over and said "SAY WHEN", The guy giggled and said "WHEN". The Vette jumped up and started to scream. Well the old 440 JUMPED pretty good that night. Started to catch the Vette in passed him by the time I was out of 2nd. 3rd just walked away. EVERYONE was surprised. We slowed and the Vette caught up and said "MAN THAT THING MOVES. NEVER THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE ME, AND NEVER THAT BAD." So, when way life is now, time with my son and probably some "middle-age crisis" going on, would like to have those feeling again and enjoy them with the family. So probably looking for a 1968 FIRST. I know AC only came with auto trans. But that's fine. I can always install AC if I find I really want it. The either '67 or '69. I see the '67 as more a sleeper and '69 more classy? But that's just me. Thanks, John

My Services work exactly for what you describe. People from all over the country and beyond hire me on retainer to find 66 and 67 Chevelle SS. It includes my verification and opinions on any 66/67 SS they might find in their own as well. I have some clients on retainer for as long as 3 years. Others 3 weeks. It is much more involved than these few sentences but in short, yes there are such things. In a time with more scams than ever, fakes and over priced junk.... people need help beyond just.... hey, did you see this one For Sale?

Mike, been on your site a few times. BUT would never bother till I was in the market. I wish there was something like that for the B body Mopars. But you never know, that market MIGHT change and I could look for a '66 as that was the year I was born.
