Ok, I'm building a day 2 or old school engine for my build...
The 1st pick is my motor, just a mockup......I'm trying to decide if the polished M/T covers should stay or try to match the look of the tunnelram which is a dull look(no shine).... 2nd pic is a set of M/T covers that are more in the satin or dull sheen. Wondering if this looks better then the shine on the M/t covers I have? Just curious |

I prefer the contrast, of the raw intake w/the polished covers

I prefer the opposite.....as in the second picture.....I like the aluminum manifold to match the look of the valve covers.
It's whatever you prefer.....there is no right or wrong....it's Day2 ![]() Dan

They both look good. I guess it all depends on whether you have a hood with a hole in it for the velocity stacks or whether you want to tuck a large single carburetor under the hood? Either valve covers float the boat if you ask me, but my preference is for the dull look over the polished look.

Thanks for the input all...
What's the best way to get a uniform dull finish on the valve covers? |

Both look period correct and GREAT! Personal preference. Is that a Weiand or similar triangular air cleaner on the 2nd photo? I like it! I am considering the same for my Chevelle D2 build. I believe it will just fit under my stock hood.

Just to clarify the 2nd photo is not mine I found it here on the site, I liked how the M/T were finished....just using it as a reference....
