Hi ! I had some spare time today and went over my pile of blocks to see what I have. One of them is a "014 mystery block" that came out of a late 1973 Chevelle. Nothing special other than the casting# since it was only a 145 hp version. The pic is from Colvin´s book and it doesn´t list it as being used after early 1973. Mine is from late -73, and from a Chevelle that isn´t listed either. Do any of you have a 3970014 block, and if so for which application ? ![]() ![]()

Anders Stålklint. After selling my COPO 9561 I´m now a "postman" with the main project being a 1966 327 2 dr sedan Chevy II.

NCRS has confirmed that this block was cast and machined in Tonawanda and then sent to Flint for assembly. They were used in some later 1972 (March or after) Corvettes.
