Wow that's too damned close to home! I was reading about this care earlier on Hotrod's website. It's only the 2nd. or 3rd. 1969 Z/28 I've ever seen in the Philly area painted in Olympic Gold-- but only the 1st. with an original flat hood. I hope this guy posts some more photos of this incredible find.

Bummer the smog was removed. Close as you can get to untouched.
Any verification to the statement that not all cars got the HP/Engine stickers on the air cleaner? Rich

That statement of 'not all had a engine size/ horsepower decal' Is journalistic embellishment.
I'm sure the owner removed it as he removed the smog system, front spoiler as much as he added the tach and probably a few more items. The writer also said the car was put on blocks as soon. as the car arrived........ then the 10,000 miles were put on the first few years. That's almost like saying an "old race car with 5,000 miles.....a 1/4 mile at a time" Yeah, really ! ? A really cool find, a nice Z.....Great color combo.. and one I would cherish and just clean up as well to have it roadable, safe and dependable.......

Some cars not having an air cleaner decal is fact, not "journalistic embellishment." The 09D Van Nuys '69 Z/28 Hot Rod magazine tested in the January '69 issue didn't have one either. The only ZL1 [#5] photographed back in the day also doesn't have a '427' decal even though Chevrolet Engineering docs specify it. The Olympic Gold Yenko photographed when new shows only the 427 crossed flags decal; some L72s also had the 425 HP label. Some L72s had no labels.
