Was the wood grain trim around the wiper switch, headlight switch and radio knobs part of the SS396 package on a 1969 Camaro or was it part of an additional optional package? What about the steering wheel? If the optional 3-spoke wood grain steering wheel was not ordered would the base 2-spoke steering wheel come with the wood grain insert as part of the SS package? I am starting to look at a no option SS396/375hp L78 Camaro that is supposed to be very low mileage but has been completely rebuilt and these are the first things that got my attention.

Had knothing to do with the engine. See these tables for Z23 and Z87. Or look in a dealer album.

Wood grain trim as described was included with the Z23 special interior group and Z87 custom interior. Z23 & Z87 also included wood grain trim on the shroud of the standard steering wheel.

I believe a non Z23/Z87 car ordered with a console may have received the dash trim but not the steering wheel trim. None of this was included with Camaro SS equipment.

Thanks for the response guys. I did not think of looking at the CRG site. I read more information on the site and the instrument wood grain trim is also part of the D55 console package also. Learn something new every day. The car I am looking at does not have a console so the lack of wood grain trim makes is right.
