a complete original trans from a 1963 corvette 340HP it is close ratio like those used in FI and solid lifter cars. It has late 62 dates and is a very early 63 corvette trans, could work for a few end of year 62 fi cars 340hp as well. I was told it was rebuilt and used sparingly but have never used myself.. 899.00,paid members get 1/2 price shipping

Corvettes stop using cast iron main case middle of the 1961 model year, 1962 and later model year Corvettes used a T-10 7D tail housing, your trans has a T-10 7B...
Late 1962 date T-10 1B main case, and T-10 7B tail makes this a passenger car trans... Hope this helps... Crash |

409 was usually aluminum main case as well. Just the 327-300hp and 283's equipped with cast iron main case. Last 4 or 5 cast iron case transmissions I had were all close ratio for some reason. Same transmission also used in Pontiac full size (Not Bonneville as they had a long tail).

I'm not questioning what it came out of, what it started live in, the castings were used in low HP passenger cars...
409 cars and 300HP passenger cars used the Aluminum Corvette trans... Some one rebuilt the trans with close ratio gears where there use to be wide ratio gears, its done all the time... These T-10 castings were never installed in a 1962-63 Corvette at the factory... Hope this helps... Crash |
