Not mine. It is sitting at my buddy Al's gas station in Flemington, NJ. The car is owned by the service manager at a local Chrysler dealership. I didn't take a photo of the trunk but it is really nice, in its original spatter paint. The fender skirts are in the trunk. The contact # in the window is for Al, the owner of the gas station. I have no idea what these cars go for, I am just posting what I saw today in case anyone is into big Chevies.

That is a very fair price if in fact the car is real and not full of mud (notice the missing rear wheel well trim). I would love to own it and drive it! I see some things wrong under the hood but easily fixable. They are a great driving car and what can you get for that kind of money? Thanks for sharing.

Is there supposed to be rear wheel well trim if it has fender skirts?
I think he has the original wheels and hubcaps, too. |

I had a 427 69 Caprice years ago ,and a 327 Impala, so this car is a bit special to me....
I think it sounds like a great deal...SS..427...air... looks like all there as far as the parts go...Have to check part numbers, but drivable, showable...Id detail the engine and drive it... ...maybe find a hide-away headlight set-up. I think that is so cool on these cars..and rare as heck !! Did they ever put the hide-aways on the Impalas??? cool air cleaner..probably rare as heck !! I always was intrigued by the SS427 vs SS with 427 69 Imapalas..never really understtod exactly the difference actually...I guess this is only an SS with the 427?? |

Its a fake car guys. Been on craigslist a while now. Real 427 car but not a true SS.BTW you could only get a SS427 in 69 not a SS with a 427 as in the two previous years.

So it originally came with that 427 but it was a regular Impala that he put the SS emblems on, and not an Impala SS?
(Sometimes I need a Chevrolet translator) |

I guess that explains the price... So you could get a plain Impala 427..or an SS427?....I thought the SS427 would have 'SS427 emblems'... ?? And not just the SS emblems? I guess that is a 67-8 thing also. |

OK Here it goes In 67-68 Z24 cars had ss427 badges but no Impala emblems. Regular ss cars said Impala but you could order the same 427 engine as was available in the Z24 cars....In 69 There was a regular Impala which you could get any 427 emgine desired But when You ordered the SS427 you got the 390 HP 427 which had the code LC or LD for the 425 horse...The 335 hp code LE which this car has could not come with the SS427 This engine was for the base impal or caprice. Everybody trys to make a fake ss in 69 if they have a 427 engine but very few know you could not get the LE boat anchor engine. Class is dismissed Just kidding!

For what it's worth the 1969 SS427 had no "SS427" badging like in the 2 previous years. In 69 the SS427 had a unique front grill which this car has and all other badging seems to be correct. The air cleaner however is not correct, looks like a second gen Z28 air cleaner. I have a friend here in IL that has quite a collection of SS427 Impalas and here are some pics of 2 of his cars, a 69 SS427 coupe, and a 69 SS427 convert. Notice the chrome trim strip across the trunk on the convert....was a convertible only trim piece.
