So I get a call from Boomer who said Orley Koppes and Jim Parks invited him to a car show at Todd Wenzel Chevrolet in Hudsonville, Michigan which is just outside Grand Rapids where Dennis Barker works. Boomer asked me if I wanted to ride along with him. Needless to say I said yes. We took off on Friday around 5:00 pm. Got to the hotel around midnight which by the way Dennis booked for us.
Saturday morning we cleaned the cars and headed across the street to the show. Dennis is there directing traffic and it was nothing but first class the rest of the day. I've never met Dennis before but he treated me/us like family. He had Boomer, Jim and Orley park their cars front row next to the building. He would stop by and chat every so often.....just to give Orley a hard time! At the end of the show, Dennis tells us to go to the side of the building. He takes his 600HP Nickey Camaro out there and does one of the best burnouts I've seen in a LONG time! I only have pictures of it now but plan on getting a video as soon as Boomer makes a copy of it. So, thanks again for a great show and a good time Dennis. Kurt Here are some pictures of Dennis' car and his smokey burnout. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
