Default Fundraiser Benefit for my Father in Law

For those of you that know me, I am a very proud and independent
person that never asks for help. Well at this time I need to reach out on behalf of
my father in law, Thomas Bush, and ask for your generosity.
This has been on my mind and is not an easy task for me to do as I was raised with strong ethics and beliefs, however when your back is up against a wall....one must ask for help.

My Father in law has had his world turned upside down in the last two years...
he has been diagnosed with Morvan's Syndrome , something
very rare, so rare that only a handful of people have ever had it. It is suspected that this condition might be the result of an exposure to Agent Orange while serving as a Marine in Vietnam.

Within these last two years he has been in and out of the hospital, unable to drive, work, leave his home for any amount of time, or even manage to move around with out assistance, let alone enjoy the "life" he once knew.
He is only 64 , has been a hard worker all his life always generous to others and NEVER asked for anything his whole life. Tom lives in a small community in Owensville, MO. with his wife Chris, who retired early to care for him. Needless to say with hospital bills mounting and his prescription medication over $700/month life has been very
difficult for them. He's asked for help from the Veteran's administration but they are tied up with tons of paperwork and are requiring him to "Prove" his illness is related to Agent Orange. Despite it all he tries to have a positive attitude, hope and the strength / will of a Marine to live on to see our baby girl at least graduate high school.

Tom is very patriotic and proud to be an American. It has always been his joy to organize the town`s yearly 4th of July party and Fireworks show. He always opened his home to everyone never asking for anything in return except for the "oohs and aahs" at his fireworks display. This 4th of July was very difficult for Tom, since this was the first time in over 25 years that he was not able to have his big 4th of July celebration.
Tom is back in the hospital today suffering from a blood clot in his right leg.
The town of Owensville, my wife and I are hosting a Fundraiser Benefit in Tom`s honor on August 25th.

If you'd like to join us in Owensville for food , drinks and silent auction and raffle of items you are more than welcome. If you are unable to attend but find it in your heart to make a donation we would appreciate it.

Please make donations to: Thomas Bush

Thank you to you all and may God Bless.

You might also look into setting up a Paypal account. makes it easy to donate.

If you go through Paypal people should be able to select "gift" as the money type which should minimize/eliminate recipient fees.

Sorry to hear of this...it really sucks. I would also suggest getting in touch with your local congressmen and explain the situation. I have done this before on three separate occasions and it amazed me how they were able to cut through the red tape and actually speed the process along. Since Tom has been such a strong community supporter for a long time, it might help. Good luck with this Dan and let Tom know we all thank him for his service to his country and his local community. Sounds like a real stand up guy.
