Over on the HAMB in the " vintage shots of days gone by " thread, there is a picture of a almost new Camaro with a Ford Flathead engine it. What makes even more weird is it looks like it has a Stinger Hood on her. The picture was from April 1968. Anybody ever hear/see this oddity ??

You can almost hear him say, "Flatheads forever!"
Judging by the grille emblem it was a 396 car. Either that or gramps sawed the "350" off the bottom. |

Don't forget the fiberglass Stinger hood there. Can you imagine if this car was on the list of '67 Yenkos? It would be one of the strangest fates to befall one!

Either Louis Chevrolet or Henry Ford musta' been turning over in their graves! LOL. Got to give the guy credit for innovation though, even if he was taking a step backwards IMO.

Could it have been to run a specific class?

The guy was racing in a class that only allowed flathead V8's, inline six and inline eight cylinder engines.
