Distributor - 1971 Corvette LS-6 4-Speed
For Sale is a very rare 1971 Corvette Tach Drive Transistor Ignition Distributor # 1112076 that was produced for the 1971 LS-6 454-425 HP 4-Speed application. Chevrolet only produced 188 LS-6 Corvettes in 1971 so these can be very difficult to locate. The distributor has a date of O-J-3 which translates into September 3, 1970. The vacuum advance canister is MS-210-16. This distributor has been sitting for a very long time after being removed from a REAL 1971 LS-6 454-425 HP 4-Speed Corvette but it turns very freely with no tight spots or binding and the Tach Drive worm gear is in very good shape. Even the original Transistor Ignition plug is still intact on this unit. The cast iron housing itself is in very good shape with very little corrosion or pitting like many other high mile distributors. I can see two cracks on the Magnetic ring that surrounds the pick-up but these are easy to replace and there is no cap or rotor included either. This being a 39-year old electrical component, it is accurately described to the best of my ability and is being sold as-is. This distributor is VERY RARE and I'd like to see it go to somebody restoring a real 1971 LS-6 Corvette, the LAST of the solid lifter Big Block Corvettes and the end of an era. This is one of the rarest Big Block Chevrolet Corvette distributors ever produced and is much more rare than the more-common 427-435 HP cars of a few years prior. Asking $600 OBO. Thank you.
