Default 69 GTO Judge, RA III, 4 sp, Driver, Must Sell $17K

Fellas –

Getting married and moving, so I have to thin the herd! This is a PHS documented 69 GTO Judge, optioned with the Ram Air III engine, M20 4 speed transmission, and 3.55 Heavy Duty Safe-T-Track (posi) nodular rear differential. Other options include all the ones you would have checked off if you had ordered it yourself back in 1969 - - hood tach, power steering, power front disk brakes, and 8 track. It does not have factory gauges. It was built in the 2d week of April in Atlanta. The car was originally Antique Gold with gold interior. This is a fairly rare color and quite stunning on a nicely painted car (attached pic is what it will look like when done).

I found the car in a barn in 2005 near Charlottesville, VA. I purchased it from the second owner; he had owned it since 1970, and used the car as a daily driver for many years. It was painted Carousel Red at one point, and he started to restore it in the early 1990’s, but never completed the resto. I got the car back on the road and drive it occasionally. It runs and drives quite well, but I wouldn’t take it on a cross-country trip. Everything works but the hood tach (freshly restored), radio, and dash lights. One exhaust manifold bolt is broken off in the head, so it will need to be drilled out and a heli-coil installed. The transmission has a slight grind when shifting into 3d gear.

The car is complete, running, driving, and it not missing anything. It is also incredibly original, and retains just about all the original parts, including the radiator (BO code with tag), carburetor (7028273 XX dated 0159), distributor, heads (B269 dated 48’s), intake (C179 dated 9794234), Ram Air hardware (upper pan marginal, but lower pan is good), exhaust manifolds, shifter, radio, 5 matching JA Rally II wheels (dated 3/18/69), Muncie 4 speed (P9C10A, but do not see VIN stamp) and rear differential (XH stamp, 9795084 nodular HD STT dated March 27, 1969). All of the hard to find (and EXPENSIVE) parts are there; this will be an easy resto! The only item of note which is not original is the engine block; it cracked many years ago and was junked. Included in the sale is a correct dated (B139) WS block, but I am quite certain that this is a restamp.

The floors and trunk are solid. The quarters and fenders have had some work done; I’m guessing patch panels will be sufficient, but you really won’t know for sure until you remove the bondo (i.e., could be a thin coat over good bodywork or it could be hiding shoddy bodywork).

The interior is all there, but will need to be re-done. The dash does have a crack.

Other pictures and PHS documents available by request.

Priced for a quick sale at $17k OBO. No trades. Clear title, in my name.

I’m working on the eBay ad, but wanted to offer it here first. It’s also for sale on several other sites.

To be sold soon – Carousel Red ’69 Judge roller; Hemi Orange freshly built turnkey 68 Roadrunner 426 hemi (original 383 Roadrunner), $35k.

Thanks for the ad, SYC.

Scott
