Vin # on Block Above Oil Filter

I have a LS5 Engine out of a 70 Chevelle SS with the vin # stamped above the oil filter.
Could any one tell me if this Vin # stamped above the oil filter looks to be correct.
I was told that it looked like a re-stamp but there is no indication of any type of tampering grinding or over stamping.
