When did GM go from 6" to 5.5" door handles on the Camaro?

I believe it was 1978. I know our one-owner '75 Firebird, has the original 6-1/4" handled doors.

Okay, I was wondering because I just traded 2 with the short handles for 2 with the long handles and the blue "VIN" sticker is for a 1975. I also got 2 perfect original fenders, a almost perfect trunklid, a complete 3 piece spoiler for 74up plus a center section and a perfect core support off the same guy. It definitely paid to follow up on this lead for a "unadvertised junkyard"
