Default Seam Sealer Products, Application Techniques

For one example, I am needing to apply new seam sealer in joint/void beteen truck floor and inner wheel house.

2nd area would be on exterior side of rear wheel house bewtween the inner/outer halves.

What SPECIFIC product (brand & name) do you buy and EXACTLY what technique do you use to apply it.......

Many ways to do this "wrong" ........asking for help in getting this CORRECT the first time....

Also need to seam seal other misc area, like truck extensions to trunk floor, etc etc.......

Thanks,

3M fast and firm works well! Lay a bead (pretty thick if is a big gap) and do an artistic wipe with a shaved acid brush to mimic the factory. Takes a litte practice

Practice, practice, practice. And then more practice. I did the brush method with on my firewall with the 3M and wish I practiced it more. But that is indeed the way to go.

I use 3M Fast n Firm Beige #08505 with an acid brush as well... it works great, levels out well, and looks very good.

The brush technique needs to be done in one fluid motion.
the less you work it the better it will look.

Mark, My camera and pictures are with my 69 Camaro at the shop that is installing misc patch panels.

I will be sealing/resealing MANY areas of car.

One major area that shows will be trunk floor to inner wheel house.

I have several of the "soft" packages of 08515 Fast n' Firm and the special 3M Hand Gun and nozzles that apply it.

I've had this product for years, and while I can still squeeze it inside package, I'm wanting to know if I need to be concerned about shelf life?????

Thanks to all,
