I think the "1" is actually an "I", making it cast on Sept 21 and assembled on Sept 27.

Casting is I 21 8 so its Sept 21, 1968.
Ya, those rear stripes are too far inward (close together) engine and trans are leaky. Looks promising but check stampings and component stampings for originality ![]()
