I've got the 480 all in Quickly... with as much initial as it can stand and still crank.
It will be running 110 leaded... I am mainly worried about being lean on the top... I can't remember if I put 68 72's in the carb or 72 76's... I will have the camera... we are going to try to get some good shots of it launching... It looks so freaking sweet with the M/T's on rally's, the Yellow Lakewoods peeking out, and the Torque Thrusts on the front... We are going to drive it like it was meant to be driven!!!

What gear is in it? M21 trans? Don't need it to fat in the heat. You can pretty much leave the motor alone. The work needing to be done is at the rear of the car on a Z/28.

Car ran a best of 9.16 @ about 74mph, 60 ft. times average about 2.0. The time was terribly disapointing! We need to change a couple things and I think 8.75 is maybe possible.
We had alot of fun and did'nt break anything, so it was all in all a pretty good Thursday night. James has a couple of pictures to post. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If the motor isn't to tired it is ALL in the rear and putting an M20 trans in.

It has a M20... the motor is running out of fuel on the top, plus the points are bouncing at 7200...

It may ET better at 6500-6700 rpm's. Are you running at least a 4:56? I am running 72's and 78's in the 780. Mine feels the strongest at about 6700 with a 4:10 rear and an M21. Mine needs at least a 4:56 to feel like anything. Its a dog!!

I like blocking the rear PV on our 780s...it seems a lot more consistent. You sure that thing is running out of fuel?

The plugs are awfully white... Didn't have any larger jets with us last night...
Only have a 4:10... How much worse would 4:56's be driving on the street? 4:88-5:13's would really pick it up. OBTW- 2.00 60 foot times...

Hey Rob when you block the PV how many jet sizes do you need to go up?

We have 4.56s in the Sub, and they ain't a whole lot worse...unless you're gonna be doing extended freeway duty? I think a jump of 6-8 is the rule of thumb, but I'd have to check my notebook to see where ours fell...our L72 is probably jetted a *lot* smaller than most of you guys would guess...
