I think Day 2 cars done correctly are pretty cool,

...and deserve an awful lot of Respect today,as those "Day 2" parts are so Very difficult to find.
I see "Day 2ing" as an owner just taking delivery of his New Machine, and going home to remove the SMOG components,if equipped,& other restrictive parts, then installing Headers,Cragars,Ladders,Thrusters,Tachometers and anything else that ends in ER.
All done By HIM, in HIS Driveway/Garage.
Just my "Day" .02

In 1983, I turned 17 years old and purchased my first car. It was a "Day Two" 1972 Chevelle. It had a Cowl Induction Hood, a small block, M-22 and a 4:10 12 bolt rear. It sat up very high, because of big block springs up front and air shocks out back. Cragars all way around and N50's on the rear. It also had bright yellow Lakewood Ladder Bars, a finned aluminum rearend cover and Sun Blue Line Gauges. All the elements of a "Day Two" car!
During that time, my neighborhood had these types of cars everywhere. Especially, since we had speedshops like Motion Performance, Russ' Speedworld and S&K Speed nearby.

Rick,
I always like the 1972 Chevelle Super Sport. In 1988, I restored the Chevelle that I still currently own. Even at that time, "Day Two" was still very popular. I couldn't help myself and I put Centerline Auto Drags on it with
15x3.5's up front and 15x10's out back. A few years back, I sandblasted the original five spoke wheels and put Polyglas GT's back on it.
Nick...
