I just found a 64 Plymouth Savoy Max wedge 426 car for a good friend. Turns out that car is one of 11 aluminum front end cars....and this one raced the 64 Winternationals and many other Southern california Dragstrips, under the Glenwood Motors sponsorship in Riverside, CA. It will debut tomorrow at the big MOPAR Spring Fling show in Van Nuys, CA.

YEP!!!............. Hemis'.....................
Last time I looked, Floyd Garrett had eight under one roof and a couple of very nice Max Wedge cars. All originals. Makes me really appreciate the early Mopar Supercars.

I'm new here, too. If you want to join another board with all the info you could ever want, check out moparts.com. I've been a member there for a while. Your Challenger wouldn't happen to be the car that came from Mexico would it? I remember a feature about a car that was found in Mexico years ago that had a factory T/A hood. As far as why the T/A hood was available, Chrysler didn't have enough parts for Shakers, so most of them went on 'Cudas. If you ordered a Hemi Challenger R/T, you got the standard rallye hood, whereas a Hemicuda got a Shaker. The T/A hoods were an option for those who wanted a fresh air hood. Shaker Challengers are rare, but non-T/As with glass T/A hoods are exceedingly rare. Sounds like a sweet ride!

This is probably the same car. It found its way to Florida in the mid-80's and was in storage from 1987 to this year. Please contact by personal E-mail if you know any history on the car. I have info from original owner who ordered specifically for racing SS/DA division 3 NHRA in 1970 and 1971. Ran against some Sox and Martin sponsored cars. He sold it in 1971. I have no history from then to about 1985. Thanks, Patrick

Patrick-
I have some pretty cool, fairly rare photos of some Ramo Stott's 1970 ARCA Championship 'Bird and of some restored street "birds and Daytonas along with a pretty cool ARCA/GN Charger driven by Ernie Durr. These pics were taken at a Vintage Racers Reunion in Keokuk, IA honoring Ramo and Ernie. They are too big to post here, I have sent some copies via e-mail to Belair (sorry to jam up your inbox---). Not sure how to get them to the appropriate res to post them here.
