Verne - I'll chronicle my "manuever" with photos and post, or maybe you'll hear about it on the 11 o'clock news!!

BTW, the tank is off of the car. I will clear out any combustibles very thoroughly prior to the procedure.

I've just spent a lot of time researching "how to weld a gas tank" on the internet...

... it turns out this procedure has been mastered in other parts of the world, long ago.....

The most important part of welding the tank is making sure the fumes escape safely without igniting.


Therefore, the angle of the tank and the gashole is most important....

No, why do you want to weld the filler neck?

Also, why would you bump it to 12.5CR? Man!! The 11.0 is quite enough

Marlin - the tank on my Deuce is a Spectrum and the gas cap receiver will not accept a correct gas cap. Schonye is sending me the original top section of my filler neck and I will "graft" the old correct cap receiver on to my new tank.

P.S. I was JK on the 12.5CR.
