Last night the boys and I had steaks, rice and veggies...but really yesterday was no different since I make dinner everyday anyway!.

Although it's nice to have someone make dinner and do laundry etc, the benefits that go along w/ this single dad world are worthy of mention..
How's sweet uninterupted peace sound?.
Or a guiltless catnap whenever you need one...yep anytime!.
Lots more too..
Did I mention the peace...ahhhh!.

Pete, you're a sgl dad too? I was awarded custody of my 2 kids & have been at it for 6 yrs now. Maybe we need to share some recipes & laundry secrets.
Hell, I'm waiting for 'National Pay Up Back Child Support Day'...I could buy a restored 69 Z28 with what I'm owed

edited for... Maryland steamed spiced scrimp recipe
-blend pickeling spice with cayanne pepper & Old Bay
seasoning
-wash shrimp & toss in seasonings & a few lemon slices
-add small amts of water, beer & vinegar to pan & boil
-add shrimp and cook quickly. remove when shrimp curl-about 3-4 min (best not to submerge shrimp-they're supposed to steam, not boil)
-cocktail sauce..ketchup, horseradish, lemon & worcestershire sauce
I make a pretty good crabcake too.

Ken,
You should publish a training manual. You'd make a fortune!

five pounds mussels
3 dozen little neck clams
1 can of bud
1 large garlic clove diced
1 large (lobster size) pot
4 (yes four) sticks of butter

crank on outdoor stove until neighbors ask " whatchucookin"

thats what my son made for me last night

from the link;
Foods that should "not" be part of Men Make Dinner Day

Although some of the foods that I am about to list may sound like a tempting addition to your meal -- they should never be part of "National Men Make Dinner Day":

* chewing gum
* cotton candy
* take-out pizza
* pogos
* left-overs from last night
* sandwiches from office vending machine
* neighbors left-overs from last night
* anything bar-b-qued

* anything bar-b-qued that's crazy!!
