Steve, was that the 1970 New Car Automobile show held in February?
I knew it was always held at the Amphitheatre previously, but starting with the 1970 model year,it was meant to be held at the newly built McCormick place complex,in what's known as the east wing today. Thanks to a fire there days before, they had to move it back into the Amphitheatre again.
Here's some vintage pics from one who was there..

Yes - It was the INTERNATIONAL AUTOMOBILE SHOW - NY-1963!
I had posted shots of it about a year and a half ago - it got me hooked!

No, not the new car show, it was some type of rod and custom car show.
Now that I think about it, I think that I went to the new car show for the 69 model year at McCormick Place. I recall sitting in a 69 Roadrunner that had a christmas tree set up in front of it. No photos, though.
