The 3955272 appears to be a '69 396 and the 396985 a '70 402..

Get the rest of the numbers if there are any and post them all for more info..

It's probably a 3969854 396/402cid block that was used during the 1969-70 model production based on the casting date.
Both of your blocks were available in 2 or 4 bolt mains.
Make sure to check.
