I had a 70 buick in high school. It was indestructible. I beat the livin snot out of the thing and couldn't break it. It took selling it to a friend of mine who who ran it into a bridge to put her under. He was ok but the car was toast.

Loved that buick

Hey Dan. I registered for this board so I could post to say congrats on your newest project car.

Certainly not as popular as a Chevelle, but Buicks do get respect, even PHR has put a Buick Sedan on a recent cover

Let me know if we can help in any way. I'll post a couple of pics for inspiration!

I love my sedan and I'm sure you'll enjoy yours too!

Gary,

Welcome aboard...Glad you finally joined the sYc family. I have always been a Buick fan. Gary your Skylark has always been a top 5 Buicks of all times for me. Ever since you gave me that ride I was hooked, no pun intended. I knew I would own one someday, and when I saw this one with it being my favorite Blue/Blue combo Post Sedan, I just had to have it.

But back to your 72 Skylark Post Sedan. If anyone knows anything about Gary`s Skylark please pm me. Gary is still trying to find out the original owner that built this awesome 72 Skylark.....

Here is a latest email....with more info.

If anyone knows anything about this car....please pm Gary or Dan. It`s 1972 Buick Skylark, big block Buick engine, 400 THM, 9" rearend, black paint, tan painted roof, tan color cloth and vinyl interior. It was once owned by Dominic Blasco. I spoke to Mr. Blasco and he said he bought from the guy that built it but he didn't give me a name of number. He said he would get the info and let me know but never heard back from him.

I have tons of receipts from when the car was being built but nothing with a name or address on it. The receipts indicate that the car was maybe built around the 1996-1998 timeframe be someone in Chicago area or southern WI. Some guys at the Buick GS Nats last year told me that they used to see the car a lot in the Chicago area around the late 90s. At that time it had a 700 hp 528 ci Buick engine. Dominic Blasco told me it ran mid 10s in the 1/4 mile at that time.

I just want to talk to the guy that built it to ask a few questions about the car. Would also be nice to see some photos of the car before it was built etc.

Any help or leads are appreciated.

Please Contact

Gary or Dan

Thanks Dan. I didn't see your reply and just added a separate thread in this same section asking for help finding the person that built my car about a decade ago.

Your car will be striking in blue/blue. Are you going to be able to start on it soon?

Gary,
Welcome to the board! Glad to have your input.

Dominic became part owner of Da Grove from what I heard, maybe he was real busy earlier. Try calling him again now that the racing season is winding down.

Have you talked to Tom Rix (SP), he may know about the car also since he races one of the Stage 2 cars.
