Nothing like a back tire going flat at 135 mph

Just got in. Had a fun wekend, in spite of Howie.

Not for sure why they wanted us to run the 1/8, but we did, Saturday afternoon. I ran and lost to a AMC Superstocker (Red developed a miss) and none of the other legends would run Howie, so he did a single. Saturday evening we decided to run with the NPCA guys, and as luck would have it, or not, depends on how you look at it, I drew Howie. Red ran better, with a fresh set of plugs, but did not matter, as Kim spanked me good, paying me back for St. Louis.

Sunday we ran with the NPCA guys again, my opponet broke out the first round, but we had to rerun because of a timing problem, the second time he put me on the trailer. On Kim's pass he cut a rear tire at the big end, which ended his day.

Gotta watch out for those AMC Guys!

So,....... were they afraid of the car,...............or had they heard about Howie?

Glad everyone had fun and came home safe.

Yeah. I think he was sandbagging. He told me he had not raced it in 10-15 years, had just put a new head gasket on Thursday, brakes were sticking, never ran a pro-tree, yada, yada. Then he goes out and does a funnycar burnout past the starting line, trees me and beats me by a tad.

Brian is a cool guy, with a really cool Superstocker, from back in the day. The best part, when I stopped to check on him as he was working on the old dual point on the return road, he looked up and said "that was the most fun I have had with that car in 15+ years."

Worst part is I blew a tire on the way on the trailer. I had no jack. Stopped at Auto Zone bought a 12 ton bottle jack. I also blew one on the home from St. Louis seems to be coming a pattern. Too old for some of this.

Trailer tires can suck the fun out of a weekend real quick! Do they make a trailer on tracks,........... or skids!

Kim, I use a car ramp to change trailer tires. No need for a jack. Works great and less work.

Good idea COPO: more stable(safer) & easier (less effort)!

More than one way to skin a cat!
