Here's an overall view of the total production numbers for 1968 Big Block cars:

L35 - 10,773
L78 - 4,575
L34 - 2,579
L89 - 282

I have 2 L34 '68 convertibles both with the TH400. From the research I have been doing over the years, the BB convertibles are somewhat rare to find. I have been able to locate 7 other L34's convertibles. I do think these are pretty rare. I think the total production number for L34 rag tops with the TH400 is south of 100 total. To come out with an exact number of big block convertibles is rather difficult and involves an extrapolation of the production numbers but I would imagine it would be around 1800 or so.

I attached a pic of one of the L34's and my L89 taken at the farm.

I owned a Grotto Blue 396, T-400, A/C, RS /SS, convertible with pearl custom interior that sold new in Effingham Illinois. I talked to a girl that owned it new, verifying the equipment when I did a title surch. She received it from her father as a High school graduation present. I think I just saw a picture of it in the current issue of Hot Rod. It was parked at a dealership lot during the power tour stop in Ames Iowa. I always thought is was a rare car with the Big Block, A/C, custom interior, convertible options. Does anyone know of that car?

Bill
