Howie just forwarded this information;

David Ray Miner, 47, of Donnellson died at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at his home after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Born Oct. 7, 1960, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Raymond H. and Mary Lou Kiener Miner. On Aug. 27, 1988, he married Carol Ann Richers in Fort Madison.

Mr. Miner was president and founder of Miner Manufacturing with 24 years of service.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk, where he was a youth group leader. He was the founder of Minerville Railroad and a member of the Southeast Iowa Antique Car Club, where he served a term as vice president. He enjoyed playing in the city band.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Emily and Sara Miner, both of Donnellson; one son, Nathan Miner of Donnellson; and one sister, Deb Miner of Minneapolis, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation with family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Keokuk.

The funeral for Mr. Miner will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, with the Rev. William Mitchell officiating.

A memorial has been established for First Christian Church in Keokuk.

King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison is in charge of arrangements.

Thanks Kim.

This man was too young. He never complained when I asked how he was doing. Sincere condolences to the family.

God Speed my Brother.

His contributions to the hobby are now legendary.

Very sad. Too young to leave us, but as we see, he had a lot of friends. Condolences to his family.
