Yenko emblem

I just bought a yenko emblem and was wondering how to tell if it is original. The emblem is made from pot medal and is pitted but it doesn't seem to have been painted like the repops I've seen. Are the repops made from metal?

Hey Ed, do you have any family in Pa? I was born near Pittsburgh in a town called Aliquippa which is about 30-45 mins from Cannonsburgh.
