This has to be one of the most desirable cars ever produced, and in the most desirable color combination! This is one car I would love to own. Good luck with the sale Joe.

Just a bit more stats. On the L88 registry of verified cars, of the 116 L88's built in '69 only 18 convertibles are known left to exist.[ QUOTE ]
Thanks everyone for your comments. After reading them I almost want to take it off the market but I have changed direction to the unrestored cars so I have put what I and apparently everyone else thinks is a very fair price on it.I have been bombarded with requests for pictures so here you go. vintage race photos 1969 in Tony's Backyard ready for the track Tony Reunited after 37 years Pictures of the car today 1995 Vette Mag. article [/ QUOTE ] |

Wow! Check out the September issue of Vintage Motorsport www.vintagemotorsport.com in case you're not a subscriber. Has the Owens Corning L88 on the front cover and King of the L88's refering to Tony DeLorenzo. More exciting to me than owning one of Howard Hughes cars! [ QUOTE ]

That is an absolutely Beautiful and Very Well Documented
L-88. I was Lucky enough to have a 1968 L-88 Roadster. Unfortunately it was not well documented other than it started life as Corvette Bronze and when it was Raced it was painted Yellow. Then when Restored it was done in Black. It had all the proper L-88 stuff, Many experts looked the car over and could Not dispute it, But no one could verify it. I have pic's from when it was a race car, and some pic's from when I owned it. It now resides in North Carolina with a very happy new owner who like me, gets the Thrill of driving an L-88 with a much lower cost. Good Luck With The Sale. I am sure some very lucky guy will be glad to add that to his collection. Here's a shot of mine. Undocumented a color change (not what I would have done) but Fast with a Capital F and Fun too. Here's a photo from a local show. ![]()

For those who might like to see. It also keeps this Ad at the top. Just trying to help since it's out of my reach now.
Here is my 68 before resto when raced by the original owner who is in the picture. Unfortunaely when we found him he was how you say a Few Fries Short of a Happy Meal. He couldn't verify his name let alone a car. Damn... ![]() Here's a photo ogf it going to a new home in Carolina when I sold it. ![]() I know this is a small pic, but it's the Motor. You'll recognize the L-88, Numbers matched too boot. BUT, No Paperwork ![]() It was a Fast Bastard... Had a guy in a Porsche Turbo try to Race me. I had burned a plug wire and was arching and still Blew his Doors in. Nasty Cars Good Luck selling that Beautiful 1969 It has all the Right Stuff. WOW!

Imagine what that must feel like to be pinned to the seatback with the throttle mashed?
Great car.

Let's put it this way, I ran Only 110 Octane Racing Fuel and the Backside of the car was always trying to pass the front side.
It was scary fast.
