Thanks for that help but I think that is what has been done already before I bought the car. Do you know if a heli-coil will work to fix this problem?

I have never heard of a heli-coil for a pipe thread. I would check the auto-parts store for a straight adapter that is 3/8"-24x 1/8" NPT. There are fittings like that in the brake tubing/fitting cabinets around here.

I found a local machine shop that will make me up a adapter that will work with the problem I have encountered. Thanks Tony

FYI - Future reference
They DO make a 1/8 NPT helicoil. McMaster Carr #91733A401 with tap #91711A251. Also 1/8 NPT is 27 TPI. |
