I recall something in one of my craft from years ago. It was a heat strip (electric) that was used to bend acrylic sheeting. I have a new issue of the catalog at work, but nothing here at home. If I find something tomorrow morning I'll give you a call. Sometime before noon 'cause I gotta spend the rest of the day at an outdoor wedding. Forecast: rain, hail, high winds! Friday the 13th! Go Figure!!!!

I remember an article in one of those late 50's pocket size Hot-Rod mags where they were making a small bubble canopy for a Bonneville type car..
They made a wooden buck w/ the desired shape, put the material on top and slipped the whole thing into the local Pizza place oven and heated it just enough to take on the shape..
It worked beautifully and was crystal clear!.

OK, I checked the latest catalog and the heat strip is no longer listed. However, they do say that Acrylic sheeting can be bent and formed by heating it to 250-300°.

What's the output temp of a hair dryer/heat gun? Maybe check it with an oven thermometer. Could be you have what you need at home???????

Try a scrap piece first.............and go sloooooooow.

If you try to heat it too quick or too hot it will bubble and blister.

Kim, its touch and go from solid to bending...if you are on it with the torch the air movement from the tip will distort the material when it gets loose to bend and harden that way, find your vynal graphic guy and borrow his heat gun, they get smoking hot with not much air flow..or drive over and use mine

cant find my buddy to get the gas mix that is the trick.
