In all my years, I've never had a problem with the AC filters.

I'm not real crazy about the newer AC filters (made by Champion Labs)...compare 'em to the old ones...the new ones have 8 smaller holes in the top versus 6 larger holes in the older filters...the bad part is they replaced the sturdy steel guts with flimsy material...you fellow racers that cut open your oil filters probably noticed this already.

check 'em out

I think we've got Wix on everything we own (except our Ally spin-on) *but* I'm thinking we have an AC on the Sub right now? One of those "it's late at night and this is all we had on the shelf and we're loading the trailer ASAP" type deals...I know, don't procrastinate!

Now, what I'd *like* is find an oil filter "stencil" with the old AC logo, and spray a good filter to look like the original AC one...maybe that's how I could make my millions, by making hi-performance but stock appearing oil filters!

I work at a commercial truck center and use Baldwin filiters exclusively on every car I own except on the '69 with the scalloped Canton pan where I use a K&N with the little nut welded on to the bottom...makes removal a snap

If anyone is interested, I could cut open some filters and take some betters pictures...I *might* even be able to scrounge up some old school filters and take a peek inside them?

Guess I haven't been looking close enough. It won't bother me to run Wix. Thanks for the heads up.
