Just finishing same process on a 71 442. Keeping the grooved rotors as they were NOS in 1994 and have only seen 2000 miles. I purchased new backing plates from Inline Tube and other than not having the part number stamped in they are like originals. As far as caliper paint i use a cast grey caliper paint from Eastwood. Gives a tought long lasting finish. seems to stand up to brake fluid as well. You can use this paint on the hub part of your rotors as that part will probably be rusty.
