Great looking car. If it were me, I'd find a way to re-unite the original motor to the car. Hopefully you can work out some sort of deal with the engine owner. Good luck.

Maybe he would be interested in a partial trade for the engine that is currently in the car? I imagine it is a CE block. That would be better for his 69 Camaro anyway. He would even be able to drive the car to see how it ran.

Thanks everyone, Jason, I thought about seeing if he would want to trade shortblocks(with me throwing in some cash of course). I will have to wait and see.

Love the story about the car being your dads. Sell the viper and get that engine. I know the car will never be for sale but it would increase the value of the chevelle by a large margin.

Hi Marty,

Glad to see you found this website

I'm sure you're very fond of your Viper - but this is a one in a million opportunity presenting itself here There are many, many people who would give their left you-know-what to be in the situation you're in right now...unless the engine owner is looking for stupid money, I'd make it happen Time is NOT your friend right now....these opportunities have a way of disappearing if the right course of action is not pursued in a timely manner.

Marty, do what ou have to do to get the motor. There is also the possibility of taking out a small home equity loan if you don't have the cash. Seriously, don't snooze on this one. Get that motor.

Marty,

That car looks strangely familiar. Has someone posted pix of the car here before? Even the license plate seems familiar.

COOL CAR, and a dual snorkle to boot. I know how easy it is to become emotionally attached to a car (your Viper), and it's VERY easy for all of us to give advice but I think most of the guys here speak from the heart when they say they'd love to see the original block reunited with the car........ me included. I sincerely hope you can find a way to get this done,............. and soon!
