I found this on the NCRS website when I searched for the 502 dealer code:
Hello, my name is Vic. These codes are on the tank sticker of a '69 vette shell that I bought in '05. The car doesn't have an engine, trans., interior, doors, rear window, or tops. It has all the fiberglass of a Baldwin-Motion Vette. The Datsun-style GT headlights, the reverse side gills, the front and rear flares, and '67 or '68 Firebird tail lights. I've located codes on front and rear bonding strips that almost match and end in "GT". It is originally an L-36 390hp car w/ an M-40 auto trans., and saddle vinyl on Can-Am white. I recently ran a search for my car's zone and dealer no., and one '69 came up but I'm not sure if this is the same vette. The tank sticker says that the Date Received is 8/10/31, the Exp. Date of Prod. is 8/00/00, the Order Number is AUP261, the Zone No. is 00, and the Dealer No. is 502. "160" is written heavily in pencil in upper right hand corner directly after the trim and engine description. CHEV ENG OTR LAB DEV is typed in the middle at the bottom of the sticker. 7660 is lightly written in pencil next to and slightly above DEV on bottom-right. The car has no VIN tag so won't know the VIN until I can have it inspected. The guy that I bought it from told me that the owner was a good friend of his, that gave him the car to store after it had been stolen and recovered. The then owner died, and on one ever came for the car, and he recently sold the property that the vette was on , so he was selling the cars on the lot. I bought a copy of the deed to the property that the car was on from the County Register of Deeds office to find out who owned the property, which used to be a towing service. Any info. or feedback will be greatly appreciated. Will E-Mail photos of car and tank sticker(still on rusted tank) if interested. Thank You for listening. Jason |

Yep, I put it on ebay. Did anyone do the dealer and zone search using 502 dealer and 00 zone? I figured this car NOT to be from Baldwin because Larry's tank sticker has 019 for the Dealer no. Isn't it funny though that when you search 502 and 00 the only things that come up in the search are test cars and a COPO? Yes, I am Vic.

I doubt that it's a Baldwin Chevrolet - Motion GT test mule simply because it has a '75 style from bumper area. If it was a '69 test mule wouldn't it have the front end style that would accomodate the chrome bumper?
My guess is that is a car that was assembled with parts purchased out of the Motion catalog or is a car that was modified later in it's life at Motion performance. |

------Dave,,,The presence of the 75 style bumper really wouldnt have anything to do with weather the car was done at Motion or not when new. More often than not these cars were further modified after the fact. Im not making any claim for this particular car just stating a fact........Bill S
