Also - as long as I knew the collection after it was first uncovered there had never been any mention of a gold COPO, if there would have been I'm quite sure I would have heard about it...it's kind of funny, when Larry first uncovered the stuff you could see everything (no gold COPO) for free...now it's been picked through and you have to pay and see what's left...

Fred, regarding the Gold Copo, I thought the same thing too. Ever since this lot was discovered I don't recall hearing anything about a gold Copo. The under carriage did not look as if it had been sitting for an extended period of time. Look like the work had been performed within the last 3-4 years. The body was in very good shape but the paint had a couple of scratches that did jump out at you. If you knew the guy though and seen what his overall collection looks like, you would think this was the best of the best.

Neverless, if it's a real Copo, it's nice looking with that color combo with the white top, parchement interior, Gold XT's and dog dishes. I wish I had brought my camera

Kinda of wierd though, the guy who collected all of this to begin with and the new owner of the lot had a lot in common with hording and stashing.

So, what's a logical explanation for #615312 being left off Donna Mae's handwritten list? And, as long as it's documented, why not add it now?

There was a FAKE gold copo at Mecums auction in St.Charles a few years back, from what I remember the car was discovered to be a fake and escorted off the property.. It was gold with a white top and interior dog dish caps, if i remember right it was a auto on the column.. IM NOT SAYING ITS THE SAME CAR but you never know.

This gold Copo was on a flat bed and I could not see if it was an auto on the column. It had boxes along the side so the view was obstucted. I was able to look at the under carriage down by the gas tank.

I was there and was amazed at how few people were there.Friday when only the parts were auctioned there were really about 8 bidders out of the 20 people that I counted in the tent.Saturday had about 30 real bidders with about maybe 50 people there.I would have bet that there would have been a tom of people there. If I would run an add in my local newspaper for Corvettes/muscle cars and tons of old muscle car parts I would have to hire traffic control
