Well for the first thing it's kind of hard getting information out of a company that didn't keep up with paperwork very well at all. I do have the letter from Mr. Rosen that states the car came to Motion Performance to be modified. That's all that was recieved for $2,000........lol. The engine is stamped Motion Perf and it has 2 stampings of 3350 on each side of the motor and this matches the 3350 stamp that is on the drivers side in front of the vin plate under the piece between the hood and the windshield. I believe all these pictures are on the webpage I gave a link to. The stinger hood and side exhausts were removed from the car and tossed(Sad, Sad, Sad) and a metal hood and dual exhaust system was installed on the car. You can see a pic of this car in 1980 with the regular hood and exhaust on it in the pics also. I talked to a gentleman that lived in the same neighborhood the owner lived in and he said that the car had the stinger hood and side exhaust on the car originally in the early 70's. I tell you what kind of trips me out is this statement off the Baldwin Motion History site. Here is a paste of what it says: There is on Phase III - 396 Motion car floating around. A 1970 I believe. The customer wanted to keep the 396, the engine had the phase III goodies installed and it's invoiced as a Phase III. I have no ideal if this is that car because Motion themselves were modifying cars as well and not all cars were delivered through Baldwin Chevrolet. Here is another paste off the Motion History site: Not all cars modified by Motion Performance were delivered through Baldwin Chevrolet, (especially after Baldwin Chevrolet went out of biz). Stand alone Motion Performance Automobiles are generally called Conversions. Anyway, the car has the stampings that it is supposed to and has been verified by Joel Rosen's letter so I guess that's as good as it gets. If anyone knows anymore about this car please feel free to share the information with me. And she is a beauty, no doubt!!

Great car--Glad you got it all back together---
One point though,I believe that PhaseIII 396 in the Motion history is the '69B/M Chevelle I own----It should have read '69 . The Chevelle is invoiced as a PhaseIII 396/375.
I believe it was the only B/M PhaseIII 396 Motion sold.......... Joe.

It's nice to see a car come full circle now & again & one reason this site is so cool.
When lomile posted it for sale on 2/13/06 it was a 'could it be?' Motion Nova for a paltry $14,500. All of us had a shot at it, but only Robbie was smart enough to pull the trigger. Then Jeff was smart enough to buy it from Robbie.
The Nova turned out very nice IMO.
Congrats & good luck

""it has 2 stampings of 3350 on each side of the motor and this matches the 3350 stamp that is on the drivers side in front of the vin plate under the piece between the hood and the windshield.""

Can you explain a little further how/why the number 3350 is stamped on the engine and on something between the hood and windshield? Were you referring to the trim tag?

I have a hunch as to what that number refers to, and would be surprised to see it elsewhere on the actual car...

I thought I read in the past that was typical of an invoice/jobber number,(or at least the end digits),that Joel assigned a vehicle while modifing it,or something like that.

I lowered the Reserve on the car and it has been met at $111,100. I have tons of people watching this auction and the car will go to the high bidder. Someone is going to get one heck of a deal, and I am really stupid for this but I trust people will bid to win. If it doesn't then I guess................lol

Thanks, Jeff H.
