If you go to '69 Chevelle RPO by Model (Chevellestuff.com) you will see the breakdown of engines ordered. Only SS cars got the 396 engine, therefore :L35 = 59.7K total ordered L34 = 17.3K L78 = 9.4K for a grand total of ~86.4K Chevelle SS! [/ QUOTE ] Great link Sam,I hope I'm not the only one that enjoys reading that stuff! There will be a test on this later!! |

I owned a rally green 69 Chevelle SS as a kid. Don't know if it was color change or not. Have no idea about motor as I put a 454 in it. Car may be around Breezewood PA today?
Had a black vinyl top, Cragers; it was very sharp! |

I would consider trading up or down on a 1969 Camaro.
Thanks Doug |

Hello, I have been asked for a current photo with the NOS quarter and roof restored . It was done by a local shop with over 35 years of experience. The roof is only in epoxy primer so you can see exactly what is there. The only remaining damage is two small dents on the hood (very repairable),a small scratch on the trunk lid and the front windshield. The rear original glass is in very good shape and was removed to install the NOS quarter. The engine was removed for inspection and verification.I hope this clear up some of the questions. If you have any more please feel free to ask.
Thanks Doug |

My mechanic showed me this site>
I purchased an L78 rallye green chevelle, on july 19,1969 in pittsburgh, pa black vinvyl top, and buckets, no console, rear antenna, muncie rock crusher, $4,051.00 sticker. I sold the car in 1972, have tried in vain to relocate. My friend Tony bought a 1969 rallye green 325 hp convertible. bob zafaras [email protected] |

Hello Sam,
bought from AZ chevrolet, frankstown road penn hills,pa. It was about a 9 week wait from order time to delivery. the paint was superb. I got a speeding ticket the next night! I was 18 when I got the car. I wanted to buy a Yenko, but my Dad would not sign for me as Yenko was in cannonsburg, we lived in Monroeville, PA at the time. Then you had to be 21 to buy a car. The car had manual steering, no gauges, had the darkest tinted windows. the second week I had the car, we put on hooker headers, air shocks, dixco? tach, and SW guages. originally had a 3:55 12 bolt... in 1970 I went to 4:56 and eventually to 4:88... the 396 spun a bearing and I installed an L88 short block. raced at keystone raceway park. Those were the days. |
