It is also our opinion that the block was restamped.

Not to be a trouble maker here but why doesn't the Ebay description say this?

when you translate the cross between PeeBait lingo and Corvetteese; "Most Components are Numbers Matching and Date Coded" ...it does say restamp.

the seller is "up-front" when asked a question about numbers matching...
Q: Please excuse a very dumb question, but I'm new to the hobby and still trying to figure out this "matching numbers" thing. If the pad stamping shows Sept 28th how can the block casting date be january '66?? Thanx for any help. Apr-25-08
A: I don't think it is a dumb question. I have been informed that "I" in the casting date designates September. So that Should be September 23 1966. That is 5 days prior to the pad stamp of the 28th of September.

woops...sadly an opportunity to declare "restamped correctly" was just missed

I spoke with Stefano about this car weeks ago. He was very upfront about the stamp and its condition as he always is!

Chris....you're not gonna make any friends here by bad mouthing Mr. Steve Bimby. He would never sell a car to anyone and not tell them an engine pad was restamped if he knew it was. Why don't you take your moms advice and if you don't have anything nice to say, just don't say anything at all.

Not bad mouthing anyone or the car. Just pointing out the typical vague wording of the ad.

I think all of Stefano's cars are great.

I am sure Stefano would agree that Chris is entitled to his opinion here.
