I took my L78 Camaro SS convertible to the first GM nationals show. I had purchased the car from Charlie and sent it to Bob Harris to re-restore. It was a great event, lots of vendors, lots of different makes, a wonderful show.
That's where I met Brian Henderson, I had a great time talking with him about his yellow Yenko Camaro, wish I had bought it then.
I have heard that the show has not been as good since the initial event, and haven't been back, but I continue to go to the Corvettes @ Carlisle show, will be there again this year.

Was your L78 Rag a burgundy color?

I think the Camaro portion of the show has gotten better, while the other makes have dropped off a bit. The Nova club held a mini-nationals at the first GM show, and had an excellent showing (even a debuted a certain gobi beige Yenko Deuce! ), but there are a lot of shows competing for the same cars!

I go to see friends, and overpay for junk I don't need!

Here's what happened to ME at the first GM Nationals.... I'd say it has gotten significantly better since then.

You could say that... some idiot was trying to take it off an open trailer by himself and forgot he didn't have it in gear when he removed the last axle strap... rolled right off the trailer (without any ramps) and down the hill about 75 yards right into my car. I sold it the next day as-is and bought a 69 SS396 El Camino to drive home. I have no idea where it ever ended up.
